Things Are Hopping At The Roadhouse

I have family that live in Colorado Springs, CO, and we vist every so often. We are originally from Washington state. Our all time favorite family restaurant there is Texas Roadhouse. They don’t have them in Washington.
I remember this one year, my Grandmothers 78th birthday, we took her there for lunch on a Saturday. She made sure to tell us before entering that she didn’t want to be embarrassed by the clapping & singing like they do at the Mexican Restaurants.
My Grandparents had taken me there a couple of times when I was a kid, and all I remember doing is ordering a huge plate of cheese & bacon fries each time. They are absolutely amazing! And you get a huge plate for a very little price!
We all ordered mainly steak & ribs and ate our share of rolls & peanuts. After we received the bill, my uncle stopped our waiter and told him it was my Grandmother’s birthday. The next thing we all knew was there were about 6 waiters & waitresses coming around the corner pushing this short wood piece with a saddle mounted on it. He looked at my 78 year old Grandma and said, “Do you wanna sit straight or side saddle for your picture?” My grandma shouted, “Oh, no no, Lord, no and started laughing.” It was the funniest thing that happened that year.
Not only does Texas Roadhouse offer a great family setting, it is also a really upbeat place you can go with friends too. They are kid friendly and have pretty cheap meals for a steakhouse!
