A Rocky Mountain Vacation

Would you like a mini Rocky Mountain Vacation?

Whether you're already on a vacation in Denver or live here and need a break, a wonderful thing to do is take a mini Rocky Mountain vacation. It's a great way to unwind, relax, and spend some quality time with your family.

You might like to drive up on a Thursday night and stay in the mountains for a weekend. You'll have to plan ahead, because the resorts and cabins are often booked early in both summer and winter. Rocky Mountain National Park SignIn the summer you can take hikes and go fishing and horseback riding.

In the winter you can ski, snowboard, toboggan, or sled. If you prefer to stay warm, you can curl up by the fire in the lodge with a good book and some hot cocoa.

For a more luxurious experience, there are resorts with spas and fun programs and events. Glenwood Springs is a great place to relax at the Hot Springs pool. These are the largest natural hot pools in the world.

Georgetown is a fun place to take the whole family A popular train, tourist shops, and hiking and fishing opportunities are Georgetown highlights.

Keystone and Breckenridge are beautiful places to go for some snowy fun or a cool summer getaway.

Estes Park is my personal favorite. You can stay at the YMCA camp in either your own private cabin or a room in the lodge. Or a bed and breakfast might be fun? What about a rustic mountain cabin perched above a river full of brown trout? That's just a few of the Estes Park lodging options.

In Estes Park there are more activities than you probably have time - hiking, fishing, horseback riding, mini-golf, game rooms and more.

Leadville is a town with important Colorado historical sites and beautiful mountain scenery. Fall is a nice time to visit Leadville. The drive there and back through the golden yellow Aspen forests is breathtaking.
