Parallel Seventeen
When in Denver, if one wants to get great Vietnamese Cuisine, one should stop at Parallel Seventeen. This restaurant is located at 1600 east 17th Avenue (303) 399-0988. The restaurant gets its name from when North Vietnam was separated from South Vietnam at the 17th parallel. This restaurant offers family style dining, eclectic Asian dishes, and varied wine and alcohol selections. Parallel Seventeen has been recognized in Denver for its excellent food and service.
Parallel Seventeen has a busy Happy Hour business. Happy Hour is on Monday from 3PM to 10PM. Wednesday through Sunday it is from 3PM until 7PM. Menu items for Happy Hour range from $3 to $5 per selection. One can order tofu tacos, fish tacos, pork spring rolls, vegetarian spring rolls, pommes frites, or tempura fried green beans. Drinks include red or white wine, many varieties of beer or sangria.
For lunch, most starters are between $10 to $15. Great tasting starters include steamed pork buns $10, Kobe Beef Sliders $12, Pan Seared Diver Scallops $11, rabbit wonton $12, and curried lamb imperial rolls $10, just to name a few.
Entrees range from $20 to $25. The Vietnamese cuisine has great flavors and spices. Entrees include Tasmanian Salmon, Duck Three Ways, Short Ribs, and Steak Frites. Sides one can order are jasmine rice, sautéed Chinese broccoli, and coconut scented rice.
The dinner menu features most of the lunch menu and starter items. Prices are the same as lunch. Dinner is served between 3PM until 10PM.
Definitely save room for dessert. Parallel Seventeen offers chocolate mousse $8, hand-made truffles $9, fresh fruit tarts $8, and five spice pineapple upside down cake $7.
Wine is served by the glass or bottle. There are Vietnamese vintages available upon request.
