Fresh Fish Company

by Alice
(Pittsburgh PA)

What a nice experience my family had at the Fresh Fish Company! Fresh fish and Denver, the Mile High City? But this restaurant had it all!

I had a grilled salmon, poached in garlic butter and wine, and it was mouthwatering. My husband and son ate the entire basket of sourdough bread before I could grab a piece...so ask your server for another basket, it's sooo good! The staff was accomodating and friendly. We ordered a bottle of Sutter's Zinfandel, and when it was uncorked, a bit of cork remained. The manager could not have been nicer, immediately seeing to it that another bottle was brought to us.

We got a big kick out of watching the fish in the aquarium, too. The younger kids in the restaurant were fascinated!

I ordered the Creme Brulee, and the son ordered the Cocoanut Creme Pie. Oh my. That creme brulee was to die for! Creme Brulee is a real treat, and many restaurants do not know how to serve it properly, but this one got it right. The carmelized sugar broke perfectly into the warm gooey caramel underneath. And the Cocoanut Creme Pie was just...just delicious.

We can't wait to go back! Unfortunately, we live near Pittsburgh and get to Denver twice a year, but we will now know just where we will have dinner. This was a really great restaurant, and the prices were moderate. The service was first-rate, and the food was just fantastic.
