Festival Italiano

September (Exact dates vary year to year)

The Belmar Festival Italiano is my favorite of all Colorado festivals! Featuring Italian food vendors, bocce, a grape stomp for kids, a pizza dough acrobat, sampling of Italian food, antique cars, and much more.

<img src= This festival also has an extra special attraction: Flag throwers from Florence, Italy! The flag shows are incredible. The throwers march down the length of the festival to trumpets and drums, tossing their flags as they go. Then they stop at one end of the street for the bulk of the show.

The pizza acrobat is also really cool. He is a six time world champion pizza tosser named Justin Wadstein.

Sample some pizza, cheese, pastas and sauces, gelato, sausages and many, many more Italian specialties. <img src= There are also free cooking demonstrations, Italian classes, dancers, live Italian music, and wine seminars. The wine seminars are $7.

The children's grape stomp is on-going throughout the day every two hours or so. The wine is actually sold later on.

There is also a neat car show with both older and newer models of sports cars.

Divertirsi! (Have fun, enjoy yourself)
