Denver Stock Show

My favorite thing to do in Denver in January is to go to the Denver Stock Show. Even if you’re not a livestock owner it’s a great event to go to.
The events can be kind of expensive but are well worth it in the end. It’s best to plan out your day ahead of time to ensure you get to the events that you want to. There are also free events that go on too.
If you have kids it’s even better because the stock show is oriented towards families with children. There are plenty of little stands around the arena that sell toys and goodies for kids. You can easily find your child a new cowboy hat and boots to bring home and show to their friends.
The Dancing With Horses event is one of my favorite things to see while I’m there.
Shopping is excellent because all of the buildings are lined with vendors.
As far as getting a bite to eat goes, I always head straight for the Barbeque Brisket Stand in the main building. There isn’t a place that I’ve eaten at on the Stock Show Grounds that doesn’t taste excellent.
If you haven’t been to Denver before it’s always really nice to explore the city as well. I also like to head to the town of Parker, which isn’t far from the Stock Show Grounds, and explore all of the fun little shops and places to eat. There is an excellent candy store in the center of town where I stock up on my favorite goodies.
