Denver Mint
The Denver Mint was started in 1862 as an assay office. In 1896 the current location was purchased for $60,000, and the new mint was operational in 1906. The Mint is the largest coin producer in the world!

Reservations are required to tour the building. Schedule your tour here Walk-in tours are okay, but space may not be free. When going to your tour, you must be at the entrance by 15 minutes before the tour begins or you will not be admitted. As specified by the US Mint website: If the Department of Homeland Security code level is orange, the building will be closed. The Mint reserves the right to deny access to any person and anyone may be subject to a search and security screening. All visitors enter through a metal detector. The following items are NOT allowed in the building: Cameras, cell phones, bags or packages of any type, strollers, food or drinks, video cameras tobacco products, personal items (such as lip gloss, lotion, hairspray, brushes and combs) pointed objects (like pens, umbrellas, etc) mace or aerosol containers, guns or ammunition, fireworks, electric stun guns, martial arts weapons or devices, knives of any size. No storage is available for bags. Wallets are allowed, but they must fit in your pocket. No larger wallets are allowed. Closed Holidays Tours are free. No parking is provided, you must use the nearby public lots, or park on the street. With proper planning and regard to the rules, you will enjoy taking a Denver Mint tour.
