My favorite Denver sports team is definitely the Denver Broncos. My father has been a fan of the Broncos for as long as I can remember, and I fondly remember the days of rooting for the great John Elway.
Even though the Broncos have had a little rough patch lately, I still can’t shake my loyalty. My father grew up in Colorado, but relocated to New England with his job right before he met my mother. I still live in New England to this day, and despite this being “Patriot Nation”, I love rooting for the Broncos and sharing that bond with my dad.
Sports have a way of bringing people together, giving them something common to cheer for. To this day, the Broncos always make their way into our conversation, each time we talk. This sports team, no matter what their record, will always have a place in my heart, something I inherited from my father.
Even though we live in New England, I hope to pass on my love for the Denver Broncos franchise to my own children someday, so they can share this experience with their grandfather and I.
Maybe in the future, the Broncos will make a run for it again, and win a Superbowl in my lifetime. To share a Superbowl win with my children like my father and I shared Broncos’ success with the great John Elway would be a wonderful experience words couldn’t possibly describe. Here’s hoping that’s an experience I’ll be able to have one day… GO BRONCOS!
