Denver Brocos Mascot

by Jamie
(Denver, Colorado, USA)

I've Met Thunder...he's my favorite Bronco!

I’ve had a love for both horses and football as far back as I remember. My parents always dressed me up in my little Denver Broncos jersey and I would dance around the house with little Pom Pons on game day.

My parents used to invite their friends over to watch the game and eat some tasty food, which is a tradition that I carry on to this day.

Denver is quite an interesting place on game day. If it’s a home game, don’t dream on traveling anywhere. The masses line up to see their team play. The city of Denver seems to really come alive on game day. Everyone lives for their football team. They wear the team colors and constantly talk about last weeks game.

A few years back at the Denver Stock Show I had the opportunity of meeting the Bronco’s lovely Equine Mascot, Thunder. I was able to get pictures of him, and his rider even let me pet him. They were both very sweet, plus I think Thunder really does love the attention. He’s quite the handsome little man. It was like the defining moment in my horse life.

Going to a Broncos game is quite the experience as well. Everyone is dressed in their Bronco’s gear and there are tons of people with signs and painted faces and bodies cheering for their team. Football in Denver is a real community sport. If it weren’t for the fans cheering them on I don’t think it would be as big of a motivation for the players to win.
