by Denise
(Denver)

If one would like to plan an event for the entire family when in Denver, one should visit the Children’s Museum of Denver. This museum is interactive for people of all ages. The museum is open seven days a week. Monday through Friday 9 A.M. till 4 P.M... Saturday and Sunday, the museum is open from 10 A.M. until 5:00 P.M...

Admission under the age of 1 is free. Ages 2 through 59, admission is $7.50. Seniors are charged $5.50 for admission.

Depending on what time of year you visit the museum, the museum will feature special events, usually to celebrate a holiday. In the spring, the museum hosts its annual "Bunny Trail Adventure." The museum coordinates an arts and crafts festival, with story times pertaining to Easter, puppet shows, and spring related music.

Throughout the year the museum sponsors events such as "Say Cheese!" This professional photography fundraiser will allow you to take beautiful portraits of the entire family. The museum’s "Birthday Party" is a unique event in which the museum celebrates its existence. There are performers, story tellers, crafts and games for the whole family.

The Children’s Museum sponsors monthly themes for the children. Some of themes include "Wild West Month," "Fairy Tales and Fables Month," "All about Animals Month", "Planet Earth Month," "Get Caught Reading Month", just to name a few. Call ahead or check out the museum’s website to see which educational programs are running.

The museum has interactive play areas, where children can interact with other children and learn simultaneously. There are hundreds of interactive exhibits that the children can physically play with. The museum’s philosophy is that children can learn through structured play. There are many exhibits where parents can play with their child while teaching them about animals and the environment.

The museum can also host birthday parties, or be rented out for large events. The Children’s Museum of Denver is a great place to take a family for the day. The kids will love it!
