Bump and Grind

by Jen Rants
(Aztec, NM)

Good Prices, Great Food, Free Entertainment

Last time I was in Denver, a friend took us to a place for Breakfast called Bump and Grind, which is located at 439 E. 17th st. They do not take reservations but their phone number is 303-861-4841. The decor was funky, the line was out the door, and all the wait staff were drag queens.

Our waitress greeted us and started sifting through menus that were stapled to old album covers. She said that she was trying to find one that suited each of our personalities. She found an old aerobics album for my husband and promptly got down on the floor and started doing calisthenics.

The atmosphere at Bump and Grind is not for everyone. The wait staff not only has no problem verbally putting customers in their place, it's part of the job. The food, however, is. Bump and Grind served one of the best breakfasts that I've had. I got the biscuits and gravy which is served with an asiago cream gravy. I would go back to Bump and Grind time and time again for that gravy alone. The prices were very good and the portions were large.

Bump and Grind is a great place to go when you want some really good food and a really good laugh.
