A Drive Through Rocky Mountain National Park

One of the best days I have had in Colorado was in Estes Park in the Rocky Mountain National Park. I just love to be out in nature and to hike, so this place was heaven for me. I am from the middle of nowhere Texas so being able to see the mountains and all of the lush vegetation in the summer was a sight to behold for me.
From the first moment that we entered the park I fell in love. Not very far in we came upon a valley overlook where we could see the big horn sheep grazing. This was really cool as there were tons of them, and I had never seen anything like them before. The tour guide that they had there was really knowledgeable and was able to answer all of our questions about the sheep, and about all of the other animals that could be spotted throughout the park.
Not long after we left the sheep, we saw the first of the many elk that we would see in our long winding drive through the park. These huge majestic creatures were all over the place in the park, sometimes coming close enough to the vehicle that we could reach out and touch them if we tried. This resulted in some amazing pictures that none of the people back at home believed were real.
I would HIGHLY recommend this drive for anyone that wants to see what Colorado is really about. This is one of the most rewarding drives that you can take, and you won't regret it.
